Youth Fishing Rodeo Set for May 25

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, along with the Seth Harris Childhood Cancer Foundation will bring the Youth Fishing Rodeo to Lake Claude Bennett Saturday, May 25, 2013. This is an event for kids ages 15 and under and is an opportunity to introduce your child to the joy and fun of fishing. The lake will be stocked specially for this event, so the fish will surely be biting! Your youngster will have the chance to catch and keep up to 5 fish and there will even be two specially tagged fish that will bring a cash prize to the kid that reels them in! Randy Newell of Mississippi Outdoors will be on hand for the event.
Registration begins at 7:30 AM. Hooks hit the water at 7:45 AM and fishing will continue until 10:30. There will be prizes for participants, and a breakfast snack will be provided at 10:30. Be sure to bring your tackle, bait, cooler and string. Lake Claude Bennett is located on CR 50319 in Rose Hill, MS.
The Seth Harris Childhood Cancer Foundation exist to bring smiles to kids, and this event will surely live up to that goal. The SHCCF and Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks will be joined by the following sponsors to bring this event to your child: The Jasper County Board of Supervisors, Circle L Farms, Doug's Automotive, Wayne's Tire Center, Jasper County Farm Bureau, Joseph Sims- Attorney at Law, Xtreme Outfitters, RH Stockman, Sunflower, and Piggly Wiggly.
